On behalf of our client, located in the Windsor/Essex area, we are currently looking for a Materials Manager to join their team.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements. 100% OTD Goal
- Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
- Establishes procedures and supervises the physical inventory counts
- Supervise, evaluate and coach staff members
- Interfaces with management team on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
- Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
- Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
- Ensure that the procedures are followed in connection with all materials department standards
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years’ automotive manufacturing experience in materials/logistics management role
- Managed and launched an ERP system
- Ability to lead team members
- Customer service focused
- Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
- Excellent in forecasting and budgeting
- Ability to solve problems swiftly
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and excellent in Excel
