Grade 1 Teacher
1.0 FTE Position for the remainder of the 2022-2023 School Year
We are seeking a temporary Grade 1 Teacher for the remainder of the 2022–2023 school year who will be responsible for the planning and instruction of all subject areas. The teacher will work collaboratively with other school staff to meet the needs of all students in an inclusive environment an ability to implement the revised provincial curriculum for Grade 1.
Successful applicants should demonstrate skills in the following areas:
Knowledge, understanding and ability to implement the grade 1 curriculum renewal.
Knowledge and understanding of the Science of Reading and implementation of effective small group structures.
Organization & Planning: Ability to plan and organize for effective instruction, differentiation, and assessment across a range of grade levels.
Classroom Management: Create and maintain an optimal learning environment for each student while managing student behavior and classroom dynamics.
Collaboration & Teamwork: Collaborate with others to plan for and provide co-instruction to students based on identified needs.
Flexibility & Adaptability: Demonstrate flexibility and ability to adjust and adapt to changing circumstances.
Herald School is a Kindergarten through Grade 6 school, hosts a district Specialized Middle School Program and has a population of approximately 170 students. Herald School is dedicated to preparing students for happy and successful lives as ethical citizens and engaged thinkers.
