Reporting to the Manager, Internal Audit you will be responsible for the timely planning and execution of internal audits and assisting with other audit matters and projects to fulfill the internal audit mandate. The role will not only focus on financial reviews but also evaluate and recommend operational best practices, recommendations on improvements to internal controls and assist senior management in achieving compliance to standards.
What will be your impact?
Plan and execute audit assignments
Develop and deliver an audit opinion on the effectiveness of internal controls through completion of the audit process
Reporting of internal audit findings through internal audit reports and presentations
Liaise with senior finance teams on financial, reporting, and other issues
Follow up on and remediate open audit findings
Determine compliance with Financial, IT and Legal policies and procedures
Assess business processes, procedures, and methodologies to improve operational efficiencies and mitigate risk
Detailed review of key financial deliverables as part of the quarter-end process and report findings to the CFO & VP Internal Audit
Other ad-hoc operational analysis and special projects as they arise
What are we looking for?
Chartered Professional Accounting (CPA) designation
3 to 5 years of financial and risk based auditing experience, including a good understanding of risks and controls
Current knowledge of audit industry best practices
Demonstrated strong communication, negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
Excellent analytical, problem solving skills and writing skills
Ability to adapt to change quickly, multi-task, set priorities and plan appropriately
Comfortable around senior management, can maintain composure in challenging situations and has the interpersonal savvy to deal with all levels in the organization
Public Company Or Software/technology Industry Experience Considered An Asset
Financial systems knowledge and familiarity; Great Plains or Blackline experience an asset but not essential
Willingness to travel occasionally, within North America
