Job Description – Customer Service & Logistics Assistant
Megaloid Laboratories founded in 1981 is a family-owned business. Megaloid is a distributor and trader of industrial solvents and chemicals. We specialize in finding creative alternatives for our customers. Head office located in Burlington, Ontario.
POSITION SUMMARY
This position will involve placing orders with suppliers, finding and hiring carriers, arranging border crossings, tracking railcars and trucks, and attaining and providing all paperwork required. This job requires a PROBLEM SOLVER. Winning over people and finding creative alternatives to logistical issues, and being extremely detail oriented are required on a daily basis.
RESPONSIBILITIES
PROCESSING ORDERS
- obtain freight rates for shipments as requested for quotations
- enter drum orders into our operational software program in Salesforce
- place orders with suppliers & arrange shipments including freight and border paperwork
- provide customers with order documentation
- ensure complete & accurate information for all orders prior to submitting them to invoicing
INVENTORY CONTROL
- place orders with suppliers for inventory items
- track railcars and manage paperwork requirements for railcar shipments
- maintain inventory control summaries
- work closely with sales team to forecast inventory requirements
ADMINISTRATION
- obtain/update correct addresses, hours, contact information, and equipment & paperwork requirements to enter into CRM
- complete courses for WHMIS & Transportation of Dangerous Goods (online)
- contribute and brainstorm order process and documentation for software program
- maintain/creating price increase lists and costing
VACATION COVERAGE
- back up for customer service & general administration during vacations
Knowledge/skills:
- PROBLEM SOLVER with the ability to think on one/s feet, and be solution oriented.
- Extremely detailed with strong phone and computer skills.
- Knowledge shipping and logistics would be considered an asset
Job Type: Regular Full Time
Schedule:
- Monday – Friday including some Holidays
- 37.5 hours per week
- In office work required with occasional work from home option
Salary/Benefits:
- $45,000 annually
- Full Benefits package at the completion of a 3 month probation period.
