Based in Canadian Headquarters reporting to the President – Therapeutics, the Country Manager of Canada will play a lead role in defining the Canadian strategy and lead the commercial operation, including sales, marketing, and medical affairs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Merz Pharma Canada Therapeutics Strategy

• Provide guidance on sales, marketing and medical strategy to leverage market opportunities
• Define financial targets & monitor performance
• Provide input to corporate strategy via NALT (North America Leadership Team) and lobby Canadian projects & participation

Team Leadership

• Coaching and developing department heads
• Build a high-performance leadership team
• Provide clear guidance on priorities, roles and responsibilities
• Lead whole team

Culture Leadership

• Lead by example
• Develop, communicate and measure Merz Canada therapeutic culture, incl. addressing and tackling important cultural and communication topics
• Contribute to both Global Merz and Americas culture strategy

Maintain compliance with Merz promotional and commercial policies

• Ensure field team demonstrates professional, compliant and ethical behavior during all customer interactions.
• Certify that sales team completes all administrative requirements within established timeframes.

Demonstrate Merz’s values and operating norms

• Operating Norms: assume positive intent, collaborate cross-functionally, obligation to engage

Interaction with top customers & “connector of dots”

• Meet with top injectors and KOLs to explore needs and facilitate engagement of field teams, and high value projects
• Hook up and promote Merz Canada for Global and US strategic initiatives, e.g. VIP, global pilot initiatives, educational and research activities
• Connect Canadian KOLs & injectors with Global KOLs & injectors

Education

Masters Degree – Required

Required Professional Experience

10+ years Leadership experience

15+ years of commercial experience: Sales, Marketing

Understanding of the Canadian HealthCare System (Preferred)

Medical Affairs or Financial Experience (Preferred)

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Proven strategic capabilities

Proven and documented track record of meeting or exceeding goals/objectives.

Demonstrated high quality communication and interpersonal skills.

Must possess excellent analytical skills.

Proficient computer skills (Word/Excel/PowerPoint)

Travel required (25%). Overnight travel will be required including some weekends.
