The Role
The Justice Community Support Specialist will be responsible for the provision of case management support for Indigenous persons involved in the criminal justice system, creating client-based healing plans, providing appropriate client referrals, meeting with relevant stakeholders to orient them to MNO’s services supports to the Métis community, providing relevant data about the current needs of Métis persons in the justice system. One core element of work will be to assist Indigenous clients with follow-through for Gladue Reports and action plans. This position reports to the Mental Wellness and Advocacy Manager.

In 1993, the Métis Nation of Ontario (MNO) was established through the will of Métis people and Métis communities coming together throughout Ontario to create a Métis-specific governance structure and vision, encapsulated in the Statement of Prime Purpose.
