Metro Inc. Looking for Junior Transportation Analyst at Toronto, ON Full Time

Summary

This position will provide analytical support for the Transportation Department. This position will analyze Transportation process issues and will develop and implement solutions. This position is expected to be a primary contributor for issue resolution and proactive solution development.

Specific Responsibilities

Provide analytical support for transportation projects

Analyze store data, routing and delivery schedules, comparing costs between current and proposed store

Analyze, evaluate, and make recommendations to modify existing or proposed processes, workflows, and reports to improve efficiencies and to resolve issues and risks

Document core processes and workflows (SOPs), and communicate to relevant parties

Assist in developing better management reporting tools to improve information flow and organizational planning

Create and maintain scorecards to track KPIs, identifying trends, variances and gaps in the data

Calculate and assess transportation costs and their impact on the business units

Solicit feedback from key stakeholders to determine their requirements

Coordinate and follow up on business partners’ documentation, ensuring that business units receive required reports in a timely manner

Other duties as required

Qualifications

Undergraduate degree or College diploma in relevant field

1 – 2 years experience in a distribution centre environment.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word), including experience writing VBA code and developing macros

Experience with TMS (JDA) and SAP software

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Able to multi-task and meet tight deadlines

Experience in Transportation considered an asset

Ability to speak French considered an asset
