Salary Range/ Wage Rate: Professional / Technical, Level P4B ($138,719.13 – $163,194.52 annually)
Our Water Services Department is seeking a Senior Engineer within the Engineering & Construction Division who will be responsible for providing construction engineering support to a team of Civil/Mechanical engineers delivering various major capital and operational projects related to Metro Vancouver’s regional water facilities. This role will be responsible for ensuring construction work is implemented according to project designs, technical standards, and corporate policies, procedures and objective. This role is also responsible for evaluating current construction administration processes and recommending/implementing change to increase efficiency and control.
You are a highly motivated individual with a strong desire to be part of construction projects. You are solution orientated and foresee construction issues before they occur. You understand the importance of your stakeholders and recognize communication will need to be adjusted to suite your audience. Leadership comes natural to you and you are able to influence contractors to see the owner’s perspective in an effort to immediately resolve construction site issues. Where contract changes occur you are able to analyze the schedule, cost, and articulate your findings through presentations, memos, letters, and emails. You see potential to continually improve processes by creating tools and champion techniques for the works.
The Senior Engineer reports to the Division Manager, E&C Civil/Mechanical.
