About The Role
Reporting to the Lead Engineer, Design and Innovation, the Senior Product Engineer (Engineer II) is accountable for the completed detail and conceptual drawings. In this role, the Engineer II will also make recommendations and lend their experience to the Engineering team, identifying key improvements, as well as failure modes of parts in warranty.
What You’ll Do
- Craft precise specifications and visionary conceptual drawings.
- Collaborate with peers to validate drawings for contract manufacturers.
- Address supplier concerns while documenting changes (EDRs and ECRs).
- Conduct efficient vehicle platform research.
- Maintain engineering standards by updating DFMEA, DVP, and engineering standards.
- Lead root cause analysis for product upgrades.
- Identify opportunities for product improvement.
- Utilize testing data for design enhancements.
- Facilitate new team member onboarding and mentorship.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Enhance engineering specifications and standards through meticulous documentation.
- Contribute to Mevotech’s engineering standards and process improvements.
Qualifications, Skills, And Education
- Bachelor’s Degree: A degree in Engineering or Applied Science is your passport to this exciting opportunity.
- Engineering Experience: 3-5 years of experience in an engineering environment.
- Drawing Proficiency: Ability to interpret and create technical drawings.
- GD&T Knowledge: Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) is a valuable asset.
- Tech-Savvy: Proficiency in MS Office is a must, while experience in Autodesk Mechanical, Autodesk Inventor, and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software is a significant advantage.
- Problem Solver: Your analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills set you apart.
- Team Player: Proven ability to build effective business relationships.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
