Our client, a leading Marine Hydraulics organisation, have an exciting opportunity to join their well-established team, based in Dartmouth, Devon as a General Engineering Labourer.
They are a very well-established organisation with a strong, hard-working team.
The role will be workshop based.
40 hours per week (Mon – Fri) 08:00 – 16:30
Duties And Responsibilities To Include
- Loading and unloading delivery vehicles, checking goods in/out, dispatch operations & stock taking.
- Some heavy lifting required.
- Deburring, finishing & polishing to a high standard.
- General/project assembly & completion of orders for dispatch.
- Housekeeping of the workshop, yard & plant.
- Running of machines (with supervision of a machinist).
- Material preparation for jobs (cutting/billeting).
- Use of overhead cranes & forklifts.
- General labouring where required.
Skills Required
- A good level of English verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
- Ability to perform physical labour tasks and lift heavy objects.
- Driving licence.
- Counterbalance fork truck license (preferred, but training and qualification can be provided if necessary).
- Overhead crane licence (Preferred).
- The applicant needs to be driven and self-motivated and keen to work.
- Be well organised and punctual.
- Be friendly and approachable.
- Be good working within a team and self-motivated if working alone.
- Be prepared to undertake training as required.
Ideal Experience Required
- Previous experience of working within an Engineering environment.
- Experience of following instructions and safe operation of machinery
