Mike and Mike’s Organics Looking for Accounts Payable | Accounting Analyst at Woodbridge, ON Full Time

JOB PURPOSE

Reporting to the Controller, the job holder is responsible for the handling of day-to-day accounts payable activities, as well as in a backup role capacity, handling day-to-day accounts receivable activities. Upon mastery of the AP and AR functions, the role is anticipated to evolve to include providing analytical support to the Controller among other duties as assigned.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Accounts Payable:

• Ensure all vendor account balances are accurate
• Organize cheque runs, credit card payments and petty cash expenses
• Handle vendor enquiries
• Ensure payable paperwork is entered in a timely manner
• Follow the accounts payable procedure to process the invoices
• Work with Buying & Sales Department to resolve P.O. claims and price discrepancies
• Reconcile various vendor account balances
• Filing/scanning vendor invoices
• Assist with the month end process and assist with the preparation of financial statements

Accounts Receivable (in a backup capacity):

• Evaluate, and maintain credit applications
• Maintain A/R – ensuring routine payments are received in a timely manner
• Account processing, reconciliations
• Reconcile invoices with accounts
• Ensure weekly and bi-monthly statements are sent out in a timely manner
• Liaise and working with the Sales Team on problem accounts
• Daily posting of cash payments

Accounting Analyst:

• Extract raw data from ERP and import to various database and spreadsheets for analysis
• Develop and analyse ad-hoc reports as required
• Assist with the month end process and assist with the preparation of financial statements
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and analysis of variances
• Other accounting duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, qualifications, special training & experience required:

• University Degree or College Diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field of study
• Minimum 1-2 years’ experience with accounts payable and payment processing

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $45,000.00 per year
