Miles HR Looking for Communications Administrator at Richmond, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

Miles HR has an opportunity for a talented and motivated Communications Administrator to join a dynamic team in the healthcare industry. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and coordinating various aspects of internal and external communications to ensure that communications messaging is effectively delivered to their target audience. This is a 6 month contract to start with a potential for permanent employment.

Key Responsibilities:

Communications:

• Support the communication department with public relations, and provincial public education campaigns
• Design and implement communication strategies and campaigns to support organizational goals and objectives.
• Create and edit content for various communication channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, press releases, and internal memos.
• Manage social media platforms, monitor engagement, and respond to comments and inquiries.
• Maintain and update the company website with relevant content and ensure its user-friendliness.
• Work with different departments to generate new ideas and strategies
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers
• Play a supportive role in liaison with external public relations consultants on public health education campaigns
• Coordinate and assist in organizing events, conferences, webinars, and promotional activities.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and ensure consistent messaging.
• Monitor media coverage and compile reports on communication effectiveness.
• Build and maintain relationships with media outlets, partners, and stakeholders.
• Assist in crisis communication and manage issues that may arise.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications.

Events and Conferences:

• Provide marketing communications support for the annual conference and other events as required
• Support administrative aspects of all events and annual conference including registration, prepare sponsor and speaker agreements, prepare course materials
• Prepare conference materials for all attendees, arrange sponsor recognition, set up and distribute attendee feedback surveys, prepare and execute all follow up
• Coordinate administrative aspects of trade show including exhibitor package, processing applications, assign booths, prepare show materials and documents
• Work with communications team to update webpages and develop/schedule marketing emails for events
• Attend events and annual conference; be the go-to person for attendee and/or exhibitor questions and inquiries

Administration:

• Prepare board packages for board meetings
• Prepare minutes for board meetings
• Liaise with Board of Directors for all internal and external communications, including government negotiation documents and proposals
• Assist with booking meeting venues
• Other duties as required

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years recent experience in a Communications Administration role
• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field
• Proven experience in communications, public relations, or a related role
• Minimum 1 year recent experience with event and conference coordination
• Experience with website management
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in social media management and content creation
• Proven experience with content management systems (CMS) and email marketing platforms
• Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Knowledge of design and multimedia software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) is a plus
• Experience in crisis communication is an asset
