Milestone Equipment Contracting Inc is excited to offer an opportunity for a Project Coordinator to join our experienced & professional team at the head office located in Nanaimo, B.C!! The Project Co-Ordinator role is a great learning opportunity for anyone looking to advance within the civil construction industry.

The role of a Project Coordinator is to provide and work in support of the Project Managers for long and short-term projects. Project Co-Ordinator’s are responsible for creating, helping maintain project folders, completion of project start up requirements, drafting all project documentation for PM review, day to day operational tasks, leading the quality control requirements for assigned projects, and more! This individual will be required to effectively communicate and interact with management, staff, and vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities – What is my role?

• Assisting the Project Manager and Superintendent with project performance including Safety, Quality, Cost and Schedule.
• Assisting with overall project coordination, planning, and identifying potential risks and resolving field technical issues.
• Assisting with daily project functions such as work orders, RFIs, purchase orders, permits, and other documentation as needed
• Reporting directly to the Project Manager for any needs or deliverables
• Help coordinate resources to assist with project execution
• Help facilitate written and verbal communications with vendors, subtrades, and staff
• Help analyze and verify consistency, completeness, and accuracy of daily project data
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans and reports

Qualifications & Requirements – What skills & qualifications do I need?

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, construction management, business, or related field an asset
• 5+ years in project coordination for civil construction company an asset
• Experience and knowledge in construction industry including equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials, quality, safety, and construction sequences.
• Computer skills – MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook,) & Google Suite (Gmail, GSheets, GDrive) & strong aptitude for adopting new technology
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated and works as a team player
• Positive supportive and can-do attitude
• Effective verbal and written communication, critical thinking, problem solving, and collaboration skills
• Valid Driver’s License
• Ability to work on flexible schedules
• Willing to travel to job sites as required
