Mission Group is seeking a Carpenter/Construction Worker to join one of our high-rise construction projects in downtown Kelowna, BC. The Carpenter will perform all duties related to carpentry on-site as directed by the Site Superintendent. The ideal candidate has a high attention to detail, experience working on residential, high-rise projects and shares our commitment to safety, quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.

What you’ll do:
Follow construction plans and schedules
Read and interpret blueprints, plumbing / mech/electrical drawings and sketches to determine specifications and calculate requirements
Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
Fit and install trim items, such as doors, stairs, moldings and hardware
Attend and participate in toolbox and safety committee meetings
Assist site teams with carpentry projects, organize, use necessary tools, nailers, saws, etc.
Maintain a professional calm, willing, positive relationship with coworkers and subtrades
Work with subtrades for back framing
What you’ll have:
Minimum 4 years experience in residential construction
Diploma in a skilled trade such as carpentry is a strong asset
Red/gold seal certification is considered an asset
Strong knowledge in building and construction
Strong attention to detail
Dedication to safety and safe work procedures
Able to work long hours and weekends when needed
Valid drivers license
Ability to lift and hold 40lbs
