Mistras Group, Inc. Looking for HSE Advisor – ASAP for turnaround project Shell Scotford at Edmonton, AB Full Time

MISTRAS is seeking an HSE Advisor to join our team ASAP at Shell Scotford site, Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta (North East of Edmonton) for a turnaround project. This is a full-time position working 5 days on with 2 days off for 10 hour shifts, overtime is effective over 40 hours. Depending on client requirements, shift may change to 6 days on with 1 day off. The successful candidate should be located in the greater Edmonton area, as transportation and lodging are not provided.

Responsibilities of the HSE Advisor include:

• Advising on HSE concerns with the senior leadership team
• Ensuring that employees are adequately trained to complete their jobs safely
• Ensuring Field Level Hazard Assessment (FLHA) forms are completed by each employee
• Working with HSE department, to develop a Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Ensuring employees sign onto JHA’s and FLHA’s
• Accurately maintaining JHA’s, FLHA’s, and other safety records/documents
• Tracking HSE statistics.
• HSE workplace investigations as needed.
• HSE Field audits.
• Ensuring safety documents are collected, and tracked for KPI statistics
• Report to the Regional HSE Manager and work within the site team.
• Ensuring daily safety documentation is completed properly and tracked for KPI statistics to identify trends in a proactive approach to prevent workplace incidents.
• Investigate and communicate all near misses, injuries and incidents, and follow up on corrective action plans.
• Perform weekly safety meetings and daily toolbox meetings with all employees.
• Other duties as required.

The Candidate should expect to work in a team setting, working alongside office staff, and field level staff to ensure HSE practices are met and enforced.

The Ideal Candidate will have the following experience, qualifications, and skills:

• 5+ years Oil & Gas HSE experience
• Professional Safety designation such as: NCSO, CRSP, CHSC
• Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) certificate an asset
• Candidate is knowledgeable on the Alberta OHS Act, regulation and codes
• Intermediate to advanced working knowledge of MS Office

Class 5 driver’s license is a requirement

Salary: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
