Job Summary:
The role is responsible for cost-effective damage collision repair of all vehicle equipment. This includes troubleshooting, testing, inspection, modifications, and documentation. The Automotive Service Technician must be able to work independently and has a diagnostic solid background. Incumbents must work well under pressure with exemplary quality.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and service all types of diesel and gas equipment
- Thoroughly examine the vehicle to determine additional safety or maintenance required
- Road test, troubleshoot, diagnose and complete other repairs
- Read and understand electrical and mechanical schematics
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Certified Automotive Technician (Journeyman or Red Seal)
- Out of Province Certified Inspector (preferably)
- 3 years experience in mechanical repairs
- Over 5 years of experience in diesel and gas equipment
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract
- Working knowledge of the use of service garage and testing equipment, gauges, and tools associated with the repair of gasoline, diesel, and propane equipment
- Must be able to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with the appropriate equipment
- Must be flexible to assume shift work, Monday to Friday with occasional Saturdays.
