The Opportunity:
Our client, a well known and upcoming general contractor within the ICI construction space has won a new project in Kitchener for a 5 building new development. Construction size is $15-20 million. They are looking to hire a site superintendent to work on the site starting mid November. The project includes a new ground-up shell construction for all 5 buildings plus the interior fit-ups.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Daily supervision of all site operations, including management and maintenance of all regulated site safety policies
- Monitor field operations ensuring work is being completed in accordance with the project schedule and specifications
- Ensure sub-trade performance and quality of work meet the Construction companies standards for customer satisfaction
- Participate in site meetings and host required site safety meetings as needed
- Various other coordination, scheduling and management responsibilities as required during project execution
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the ICI construction sector with demonstrated expertise in new build projects. Working in the commercial sector from ground up with a general contractor
- Solid understanding of all construction trades and construction techniques
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and field drawings
- Up to date safety training including: fall arrest, WHMIS & First Aid
- Excellent communication skills; experience managing sub-trades and supplier
- Ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure
- Valid drivers license and access to a vehicle is required
