Modeno Homes Looking for Junior Accountant at Mississauga, ON Full Time

Modeno Homes is currently looking for a hard working and energetic JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT to join our Mississauga team!

The JUNIOR ACCOUNTANT’s primary objective would be to help us organize and drive sustainable financial growth by producing error-free accounting reports and ensuring the company’s finance function is efficiently organized. Reporting to the financial controller, the selected individual will be responsible for managing and recording company’s incoming and outgoing operational transactions.

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with the execution of full cycle accounting processes and prepare AP/AR reconciliations.
• Day to day bookkeeping (invoice processing, journal entries, payment processing).
• Sales and payments reconciliation (POS and Merchant).
• Reconcile and analyze a wide array of balance sheet and P&L accounts including cash, debt, accruals, equity, operating expenses, and intercompany transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of Annual Budgets.
• Calculate and monitor company margins, gross margin dollars and targets week to week.
• Place orders to the suppliers in a timely manner to meet the customer delivery deadlines.
• Efficiently prepare invoices and receipts for the customers and collect payments.
• Enter customer payments, sales orders, purchase orders in QuickBooks with accuracy.
• Organize, plan and verify orders for delivery or pick up.
• Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of post-secondary business degree with a major or specialization in Accounting.
• The ideal candidate for this role will be genuine, intelligent, outgoing, friendly, organized with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially in MS Excel).
• Thrives and can multi-task in a fast-paced working environment.
• Works well independently and in a team environment.

Experience:

• Retail: 1 year (Preferred)
• QuickBooks experience: considered an asset
• Bookkeeping experience: 1 year
