The Coordinators, Community Health – Immunization role (2 individuals) and Labour Trafficking role (1 person) involve strategizing and implementing impactful initiatives that span multiple life stages (infant & youth, adults, pregnant people, and older adults/seniors) with a focus on a first-language approach and culturally aware methods on health literacy and health promotion focusing on immunization. The Coordinator leads these initiatives by engaging with Advisory Committee of immunization experts, creating materials and resources, and presenting these resources to the identified Top 12 most commonly spoken languages in communities within newcomers, immigrants, migrant workers, and refugees in Metro Vancouver populations. Presentations will also be delivered to healthcare practitioners and settlement workers from partner organizations. The Coordinator ensures that project deliverables are met as stipulated in the funding contract, handles all day-to-day project operations, and collaborates with the community partners, consultants, and MOSAIC staff.
The scope of responsibilities includes:
- Coordinate and implement all project deliverables as stipulated in the funding contract.
- Coordinate and lead the Advisory Committee of Experts on Immunization.
- Deliver focus groups to newcomers, immigrants, migrant workers, and refugees in Metro Vancouver.
- Support language-specific facilitators with the presentation contents and community outreach.
- Develop educational materials for service providers and community members.
- Deliver presentations to community members of the identified top 12 languages spoken in Vancouver, service providers, and health care practitioners of partner organizations.
- Ensure presentations of identified populations are disseminated to community organizations, partners, and service providers.
- Disseminate culturally and linguistically appropriate information pamphlets to newcomer, immigrant, migrant workers, and refugee communities in Metro Vancouver.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge
– Social determinants of health, equity-centered design framework, health promotion, primary care, healthcare practices, health beliefs, and medical needs of newcomers, immigrants, migrant workers, and refugees
– Cultural awareness or understanding of cultural nuances of newcomers, immigrants, migrant workers, and refugees
- Education
– Degree in nursing, public health, health promotion, community development or a related field, or a combination of training and experience in an area related to the program, project, or service.
– International education and experience, and additional training or certifications in health literacy and cultural competence are an asset.
- Skills/Abilities
– Able to develop health materials and presentations considering diverse cultural backgrounds.
– Proficiency in creating clear, accessible, culturally sensitive content addressing social determinants of health.
– Able to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse, multicultural environment comprised of professionals and community members.
– Analytical skills
– Project development and coordination skills Interpersonal skills
– Advocacy skills; advocating for health equity, social justice, and empowerment of marginalized communities.
– Communication skills in verbal and written English
– Ability to engage effectively with individuals across different age groups and cultural backgrounds.

The successful candidate may be permitted to work a hybrid work model (a combination of in-office and remote work). Candidate must be able to commute to 5575 Boundary Rd., Vancouver.
