The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity in our Human Resources department for a dynamic and creative Learning & Development Specialist. In this role, you will support our Learning & Development initiatives through the creation and implementation of innovative learning and organizational development activities across the organization. As well, you will manage and maintain our LMS, Cornerstone, ensuring optimal utilization of the system.

• Write, design, and maintain content for learning programs.
• Employ best-practice adult learning principles and the ‘70/20/10’ framework for learning & development to create skill development roadmaps that support the transformational change of our team members.
• Support the leadership development and core competency programs and executes on its sustainment.
• Identifies, engages, and partners with vendors and service providers to deliver solutions that meet our business objectives in the area of learning and development.
• Provide support for our training programs and initiatives by scheduling classes, setting up systems and equipment, coordinating enrolment, and other duties as required.
• Design and deploy course evaluations, monitor results, and formulate recommendations based on participant feedback.
• Monitor individual deliverables and provide relevant and timely reporting on status, progress and established KPI’s.
• Support audits, providing reports and other information as required.
• Support the broader Human Resources initiatives such as onboarding, recruitment, benefit administration, performance management and other ad hoc requests to deliver high-quality outcomes across the organization.
• Set-up and monitor the Compliance Training Curriculum in co-ordination with the Subject Matter Experts (SME’s).
• Create, support and govern our LMS policies and practices for both our short and long-term strategy.
• Day-to-day maintenance of Cornerstone, including content management, implementation of new features, acting as a point of escalation for support issues, etc.
• Analyze data and recommends solutions for better utilization of Cornerstone to meet our organizational objectives.
• Facilitate regular check-ins with the vendors along with various teams discussing their needs concerning training and use of the Cornerstone tool.

What you bring to the role:

• Post-secondary education with specialization in adult education, human resources, organizational development, or relevant experience.
• Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience designing, developing and executing learner-centric solutions to address skill gaps.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in learning management system administration, including course deployment, content management, user support and reporting.
• Strong technical aptitude including experience with rapid authoring tools like Articulate Storyline, video editing tools including proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.)
• Experience developing online content and building development programs to drive employee engagement.
• Familiarity with a manufacturing environment with an understanding of production procedures inclusive of safety, quality and environment.
• Strong customer service orientation.
• Works well independently and on a team with the ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent communicator with the ability to build collaborative relationships.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, analytical skills and has attention to detail.
