Financial Controller

What you’ll be doing in the role:

• the daily accounting operations of the regional locations (2) to ensure that all transactions are recorded in compliance with dealership accounting processes and policies.
• the full controllership of the financials for the dealerships, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements.
• accounting activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger entries.
• and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure the accuracy of financial data.
• monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management review.
• with department managers to analyze financial performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies to optimize profitability.
• and mentor the finance team, providing guidance and support to ensure their professional development and success.
• with external auditors and tax advisors to facilitate audits and tax filings as required.
• strives to improve data integrity and information reporting throughout the dealership.

Here’s what you will need to be successful:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• or pursuing CPA designation is preferred.
• or more years’ related accounting / finance experience, with at least 3 in a supervisory role.
• industry experience is mandatory for this role, including a solid understanding of industry accounting principles and practices, including inventory management, floor plan financing, manufacturer incentives.
• computer skills including MS Office. CDK experience is an asset.
• in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook), knowledge in CDK is an asset.
• analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail and deadlines.
• communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
