The Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) is an independent, not-for-profit corporation funded by all Ontario municipalities, accountable to the Province, municipalities and property taxpayers through our Board of Directors. Our role is to assess and classify all properties in Ontario in compliance with the Assessment Act and regulations set by the Government of Ontario.
We assess more than 5.4 million properties in Ontario, representing more than $3 trillion in property value. Become a Finance Analyst with MPAC

Here’s what you will do as part of the team:
As part of the financial planning process, assist in preparing the annual and multi-year budgets for review by the team lead, and once approved, input budget allocations into the financial system;
Complete budgets, transfers and in-year budget requests;
Substantiate requisitions, purchase order amendments and potential Request for Proposal amounts against departmental budgets and escalate those that are unexplained, unusual or unplanned to the team lead;
Perform analysis on year-to-date spend, purchase order balance and financial projections for funding requirements;
Ensure cost adjustments are documented in journals, accruals and chargebacks in relation to the appropriate cost centre;
Complete month-end reconciliation process including verifying reports, invoices, payments and budget codes for vendors and multiple stakeholders; and
Produce monthly reporting on assigned portfolio on budget vs. actuals including variance analysis as required.
Here’s what you will need to succeed:
At least 3 years’ of experience in financial budgeting, analysis or a related field;
Progressive experience with corporate finance systems;
Good understanding of budgeting and financial processes;
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite;
Prepare and reconcile financial accounts/forecasts using a strong analytical sense; and
Unwavering professionalism and confidentiality when dealing with enquiries.
Nice to have:
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related field;
Canadian accounting designation/membership; and
Experience with SAP/BPC finance system.
