Seeking strategic and self-directed sponsorship and Sales leader to grow and manage brand sponsorships deals for company events and Gen Z programs.
Looking for a strong closer. Ideally connected within Corporate America with a background in closing marketing or sponsorship deals with Fortune 500 brands.
Example initiative: The YOUNGA Forum (youngaforum.com), organized by BridgingTheGap Ventures, is a pioneering annual global youth takeover event uniting young people with decision-makers using mixed reality to co-create solutions for a more inclusive, sustainable world during the United Nations Decade of Action from 2020 to 2030.
The role is for a specialist in Sponsorship Sales Engagement responsible for the delivery of innovative sponsorship campaigns that drive business revenue goals and build brand equity.
A proven understanding of how to successfully align with the integrated marketing, content strategy and business stakeholders to define the strategic intent of sponsorship participation and demonstrate ROI to brand clients is required.
Our ideal candidate will set new benchmarks for sponsorship acquisition, retention and sponsor satisfaction. They bring a wealth of account management and sales experience, combined with a strong program and operational excellence. The role will have oversight of key sponsorship initiatives and brand campaigns. They will collaborate with our marketing and program development team to drive greater value for their sponsorship investment. In addition, they will build stronger synergies with partner networks and other external stakeholders to scale the sponsorship program in new global regions.
The majority of our team is based in Ontario, Canada, however, this position can be remote and we are open to global talent outside of Ontario.
Responsibilities
Research, pitch and close sponsorship sales deals
Identify and acquire new business opportunities in key markets through sales activities that include but are not limited to developing and managing the sales pipeline with daily sales lead generation, sales research, cold calling, presentations and active representation in the industry.
In conjunction with marketing, develop, implement and measure targeted sales campaigns to generate new business in corporate partnerships.
Develop sponsorship proposals based on opportunities and interests; negotiate sponsor benefits and facilitate contracts.
Own relationships with and provide exceptional customer service to assigned brand sponsors and external stakeholders.
Set and exceed sponsorship revenue goals, targets and KPIs
Create sponsorship project plans including demand generation, communications, content delivery, production/execution, and go-to-market.
Identify sponsor interests and objectives, and successfully match them to organizational priorities and needs; working with the marketing team to cultivate new sponsorship offers and strategic sales materials
Ensures timely delivery of proposals, contracts and post-event wrap-up with clients.
Identifies opportunities to upsell during initial contract negotiations, with a focus on contract renewals post-event and/or multi-year deals.
Explore creative revenue-generating opportunities and collaborate with internal departments to develop effective business cases.
Qualifications
Requirements:
Proven track record of successful sponsorship, fundraising, sales and stewardship.
Strong partnership development and relationship management skills
Deep knowledge of sponsorship development and event planning
Understanding of Gen Z target marketing and past experience working with relevant brands for this market is beneficial
Knowledge in the integration of brand, channel execution and sponsorships
Storyteller mindset with an ability to align and activate content to drive engagement and business goals
Ability to partner effectively with multiple stakeholders and drive alignment
Superior collaboration skills
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the demonstrated ability to write, collaborate on and edit marketing material
Comfortable presenting and speaking to executive management
Ability to translate market research and analytics into successful business narratives
Ability to ideate and pitch creative and strategic marketing solutions to internal and external stakeholders
Confident deal closer with the ability to see through the entire sponsorship cycle from outreach, account management and execution
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to prioritize
An advocate for change that inspires innovation and creative solutions
