Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada / NSERC Looking for Senior Technical Developer at Ottawa, ON Full Time

Leads in the requirements analysis, design, development and implementation of application/system software that provides solutions in line with business requirements of the Councils. This position is primarily responsible for investigating, proposing, implementing and advancing business solutions in response to evolving business needs/advances in technology, by utilizing a combination of software development, off-the-shelf tools and processes to construct and deliver on-line tools and services that result in automating business processes and/or improving productivity.

Education

University degree or community college diploma in computer sciences OR related field and experience in related information technology or a combination of education, training, and experience.

Certification as a Microsoft Certified Solutions Developer (MCSD) would be considered an asset

Foreign Credential Validation against Canadian Standards

Experience

Experience in the design, development, and delivery of web-based applications

Experience with Microsoft .NET technology

Experience in analyzing user requirements

Experience in the review and use of data models and physical database structures

Experience in estimating resource requirements for design and development

Asset:
Experience with M365

Experience with Microsoft PowerApps

Experience with MS Dynamics CRM

Knowledge

Knowledge of the system development life cycle (SDLC)

Knowledge of current and emerging trends in IM/IT in the Federal Government

Knowledge of application design, and coding standards

Knowledge of web-based computing principles and practices including the roles of Internet (& browsers), security & authentication, servers, desktop workstations, operating systems (Microsoft Windows) and networking, productivity software
