Accounts Payable-Jr. Accountant

To be located in Oakville, NCI Canada Inc. an innovative, privately owned company that specializes in the development, manufacturing and distribution of high-quality valves, strainers, and fittings. With over 30 years of industry experience, we are recognized as one of Canada’s leading master distributors and are proud to service wholesale, retail and OEM customers. All valves and fittings are sold and supported through our network of distributors and warehouses across Canada.

This is a full-time position, starting from $40,000 to $45,000 yearly, normal work day hours, and health benefits.

Responsibilities

• Full cycle accounts payable.
• Batch, code, obtain approval, and prepared payment and filing of all A/P invoices
• Reconcile inventory receipts with invoices and any other invoices payable.
• Experience with month-end procedures is a must.
• Set up new A/P vendors and maintain A/P vendor database.
• Monitor A/P aging and ensure accounts are updated and current.
• Review, document and follow through with all A/P discrepancies.
• Validate vendors’ statement of account.
• Other tasks as required for the finance team

Qualifications

• Good analytical and communications (both written and verbal) skills.
• Experience in accounts payable and accounting
• Basic use of Business Intelligence tools
• Must have strong working knowledge of PC applications, Microsoft Excel specifically
• Experience in an ERP environment—ACCPAC, SAGE and others
• Strong attention to detail & demonstrated analytical skills
• Independent, self-starter, and also works well in a team-based environment
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize works and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in Wholesale Distribution would be preferred
• Education in Finance and Accounting preferred

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: $40,000.00-$45,000.00 per year
