Nelson Roofing & Sheet Metal Ltd. Cumberland ( Comox Valley) head office is currently accepting applications for a licensed commercial truck or heavy-duty mechanic to maintain a varied fleet of cranes, hiabs and trucks. The ideal candidate will have a diverse background in engines, electrical systems and drivetrains and have experience working on a variety of vehicles.
Responsibilities:
· Oversee Preventative Maintenance and servicing of large fleet.
· Determines vehicle condition by conducting inspections and diagnostic tests
· Repair vehicles as required or arrange for 3rd party work.
· Maintain small gas-powered tools and equipment as needed.
· Must be compliant with safety regulations at all times.
Requirements:
· Must have Drivers License, Class 3 with Air Endorsement would be preferred.
· Red Seal Heavy Duty or Commercial Mechanic’s ticket.
· Commercial vehicle inspector’s license preferred.
· Crane and hiab experience preferred.
· Strong working knowledge of both automotive and truck maintenance and repair practices.
· Must be able to lead and work well with others.
· Be up-to-date with modern diagnostics and electronic repairs and trouble shooting.
Compensation: Wage is commensurate with experience plus benefits.
Shift: Monday to Friday , 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM.
