Position Summary
We are looking for a Technical Services Manager based at our North York head office, reporting into the Senior Director, Technical Applications. This role will serve as a strategic partner to the Nestle Health Science business, working collaboratively to develop and execute the Innovation and Renovation (I&R) pipeline. As the Technical lead, you will be responsible for delivering essential ingredient, recipe, and processing knowledge to support the creation of new and renovated products at Nestle factories and Co-manufacturers. Additionally, you will be accountable as the technical expert to Canadian and Global cross-functional team members, ensuring the continuity of product supply and driving consumer satisfaction.
A day in the life of a Technical Services Manager:
Execution of I&R Strategy:
Ensure delivery of I&R projects from idea to post launch evaluation. Acts as technical expert to Marketing during ideation, concept generation and briefing phase of projects.
Responsible for technical aspect of development and approval of product labels, supports recipe creation and the regulatory validation team.
Provide technical expertise to regulatory team in support of regulatory change requests to accommodate new/renovated products.
Responsible as the Canadian Technical Lead in collaboration with Affiliate Market TAG team to deliver I&R project success and identified corrective-action projects.
Leads IT, FOC/SOC production – leading product trials and providing Trial Protocols to factory.
Leads market acceptance/product evaluation of first industrial productions.
Leads market sensory evaluation/trials – shelf-life extension and determination.
Works with Ingredient specialists and North American (NAM) MRM to establish QA specifications/Release Norms for new products and ingredients.
Consumer and Health Care Professional Enquiries:
General technical support to the Nestle Health Science business and ensures appropriate awareness to Nestle Health Science Medical Affairs team
Supports Quality Assurance in developing responses to product ingredient /process package /crisis related questions, with consideration of corporate policies and consumer Health Care Practitioner needs.
Nestle Factories and Co-Manufacturers Support:
Serves as the technical lead to designated/assigned Co-Manufacturing sites (9+), accountable for processes and recipe maintenance adhering to all Nestle standards.
Technical liaison between Market’s cross-functional team and factories/co-manufacturers as well as North American/Europe R&D centres.
What will make you successful?
Bachelor’s degree in food science or related field
At least 5 years’ experience in development and manufacturing of Food and Nutrition products, food processing, aseptic, and/or thermal processing.
Experience with Nestle quality standards, PTC/R&D, supply chain a strong asset.
Experience in the vitamin, mineral, and health industry, is an asset for this role.
Demonstrated proficiency in leadership, exhibiting the ability to guide and inspire cross-functional teams.
Proven track record in effective negotiation, adept at fostering productive collaborations and resolving complex challenges.
Strong relationship builder with the ability to manage through influence and collaboration.
