Newlands Group Looking for Senior Site Superintendent at Vaughan, Ontario, Canada Full Time

Overview:The Senior Site Superintendent, reporting to the General Superintendent, plays a crucial role in ensuring timely and budget-compliant project delivery. This leadership position encompasses overseeing daily field activities, mentoring field staff, resolving issues, and managing site labor requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, and control construction projects from inception to completion, adhering to schedule, specifications, and budget.
• Supervise and manage day-to-day field activities, prioritizing on-site safety programs, and maintaining a professional site image.
• Mobilize and set up the construction site, including necessary facilities and utilities.
• Ensure compliance with permit requirements and coordinate inspections with authorities.
• Conduct pre-construction meetings with trades, manage subcontractors, and address union issues.
• Monitor and manage project costs, prepare job reports, and submit records of communication and site occurrences.
• Review shop drawings, implement Change Orders, and provide feedback on site issues for future efficiency.
• Facilitate inspections and testing of building elements, manage site filing, and handle public relations.
• Oversee temporary protection, occupancy requirements, deficiency corrections, and as-built drawings.

Qualification Requirements:

• Minimum 10 years of construction industry experience, preferably in ICI construction.
• In-depth knowledge of the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project; familiarity with project management software.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Effective team leader with proven ability to manage and inspire staff.
