About the Project
The Rolling Stock, Systems, Operations and Maintenance (RSSOM) project is one of many contracts to deliver the Ontario Line, a 15.6-kilometre stand-alone rapid transit line that will connect the Ontario Science Centre to Exhibition/Ontario Place.

The Role
The Construction Engineer (Technical) will provide technical support to the CJV construction team at the different stages of the project. They will be contributing to the planning, design, and delivery of the RSSOM project, being a pivotal resource between the technical and construction departments.
They will oversee and provide engineering support to the construction team and ensure compliance with the Connect 6ix engineering processes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide overall technical support to the CJV Construction team.
- Provide lead and support to the technical and construction teams for the correct implementation of the engineering processes during the construction in collaboration with the design and construction teams.
- Responsible for the right implementation of design change management and procedures during the construction in collaboration with the design and quality teams.
- Contributing with technical expertise to the proposal and review of engineering and construction processes, as well as to temporary works (structural background).
- Provide support to the technical and construction teams on the preparation of procurement technical packages.
- Liaising between clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, civil engineering technology, or similar.
- Province-approved license.
- At least 4 years experience as a construction engineer in the relevant field of specialization.
- Advance proficiency in CAD, and Microsoft Office software.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry regulations.
- Collaborative, able to work in teams.
- Project management understanding, capacity for decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
- Great mathematical, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate with a variety of stakeholders.
- Availability to visit the construction site outside of business hours, when required.
