Nootka Marine Adventures is a leading resort operator dedicated to sustainable adventure tourism on the west coast of Vancouver Island. We host guests from around the world and love to share our passion for saltwater sportfishing and other outdoor adventures. Our focus is to grow a new generation of passionate anglers by teaching families and youth to fish.
Nootka Marine Adventures is a wholly owned subsidiary of Security Properties Inc., which is based out of Seattle, WA.
Position:
We are hiring a Purchasing Agent for this summer season, starting as soon as possible, and reporting to our General Manager. If you love the idea of overseeing supply chain operations for a resort team who loves fishing and our customers, then this might be the job for you.
You are:
Outstanding at organization and coordination.
Confident in your understanding of supply chain principles and practices.
Good at negotiating.
Entrepreneurial at finding innovative solutions.
Someone who has enthusiasm, interest, or experience with salt-water fishing and adventure tourism.
Skills and experience you have include:
Procurement and supply chain experience. (2 years minimum preferred)
Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite.
Familiarity with basic accounting principles. (Quickbooks preferred)
Class 5 driver’s license with clean driver abstract.
Ability to lift 50lbs.
What you will do:
Oversee, coordinate, and monitor supply chain operations (supplies, orders, inventory, shipping, receiving) for all Nootka Maine Adventure locations.
Liaise and communicate regularly with Managers on resort and company leaders.
Place orders and arrange stocking of materials, supplies, and equipment.
Keep records and logs of all orders and inventories.
Plan and track the shipment of supplies between multiple locations.
Promptly resolve shipment and inventory issues as they arise.
Assist with the coordination of transportation staff as needed.
Analyze and optimize internal procurement processes and provide internal recommendations and reporting.
Communicate and negotiate with suppliers to find mutual satisfaction and best price.
Day travel between our head office, warehouse, and resort operations when necessary
Accounting support and administrative support for the office, executive, and finance team.
Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
Compensation:
This is a seasonal position with a competitive hourly wage of $25-30/hour. There is opportunity for this role to become a permanent year-round position eligible for extended health and dental benefits.
Schedule:
Full-time, 8-hour shifts
Monday to Friday
