Nootka Saunas Looking for Finance Manager and Controller at Squamish, British Columbia, Canada Full Time

We are seeking a Finance Manager at Nootka Saunas. This is an in-office individual contributor role (in Squamish).

Responsibilities:

• Invoice Processing: Ensure accurate and timely processing of supplier invoices, including proper coding and authorization.
• Payment Setup: Manage and execute payments through banking systems to ensure timely and accurate disbursements.
• Aging Reports: Prepare and review aging reports to monitor overdue accounts and initiate appropriate follow-up actions, collaborating with representative agencies as necessary.
• Credit Card and Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile transactions, including foreign currency cards, to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
• Month End Financials: Prepare and process month-end journal entries accurately to reflect financial transactions and maintain up-to-date records.
• Employee Expenses and Payroll Management: Oversee expense processes to ensure compliance with policies and accurate reimbursement.
• Financial Statements: Prepare precise and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Tax Compliance: Ensure adherence to all tax regulations and collaborate with external tax advisors as needed.
• Compliance and Controls: Develop and maintain robust internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to financial regulations, reporting requirements, and statutory filings.
• Budgeting and Forecasting: Participate in the annual budgeting process, working closely with the Director of Finance, and provide regular financial forecasts. Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration to achieve consensus.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis, including variance analysis, to identify trends and provide insights to senior management.
• Cash Flow Management: Collaborate closely with the Director of Finance to manage cash flow and liquidity to support the company’s financial stability.
• Cost Control: Implement measures to control costs and optimize financial processes to enhance efficiency and profitability.

Qualifications:

• Accounting degree, CPA or similar formal education.
• At least 5 years experience in a similar role
• Experience with accounting software (familiarity with Dext, Quickbooks or Netsuite is a plus)
• Ability to work on-site at our office
• Detail-oriented
