THE ROLE:
Provide consulting services to clients on healthcare enabling technology related projects, clinically based as a subject matter expert. Work directly with the Practice Director and/or Practice Manager and Consulting Services Team to enable sales opportunities, support solution development, and provide exceptional on-site solution delivery based upon the needs of Healthtech clients.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Senior Consultant will be responsible for, but not be limited to:
- Perform healthcare enabling technology related consulting services for Healthtech clients.
- Participate in build, implementation, strategic planning, and readiness assessment projects as assigned by VP and /or Practice Director
- Based on role in project may apply technical expertise to individual client system build in
- order to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.
- Mentor client project teams as necessary in project delivery and system build strategy.
- Track and document risks and issues.
- Analyze and document workflows.
- Work closely with project leadership, including documentation and facilitation.
- Work directly with Healthtech team or health information system end-users; monitoring
- workflows, providing documentation, and optimization suggestions.
- Conduct stakeholder interviews, complete gap analysis and recommendations and contribute to the development of a summary report to be presented to the client as required.
- Additional specific duties related to the project as may be required and dictated by individual clients.
- May be asked to lead Healthtech projects as appropriate applying the skills and qualifications outlined in the Project Lead role description
- Work on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum five years’ experience in healthcare.
- Strong experience and skillset in a clinical module, multiple clinical modules an asset
- Previous experience as a consultant is an asset
- Corporate Strategy and Asset Valuation experience a huge plus
- Advanced presentation skills
- University degree or college diploma in Business, health field or equivalent.
- PMP, ITIL or another Health Informatics Certificate an asset.
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
- Highly organized, able to multi-task as well as maintain intense focus on individual tasks.
- Self-starter with ability to maintain schedule, meet deadlines, and monitor one’s own work product.
- Highly adaptable; able to acclimate quickly to new project assignments; to include, but not limited to:
- Adapt quickly to new work environments.
- Work successfully with different teams and co-workers.
- Client workplace rules and regulations.
- Varying travel and living arrangements due to project location changes (when applicable).
- Possess a strong work ethic, treats others with respect, keeps commitments, inspires the trust of others, works ethically and with integrity, and upholds organizational values.
- Very high degree of professionalism.
ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Work may be performed at client locations, some of which may be in hospitals and medical clinics over which Healthtech no direct control.
- Additional work to be performed in a professional office environment and/or remotely
- Ability to travel for certain assignments.
- Position works a non-traditional schedule; work may be needed on weekends or Evenings.
- Assignment requires on-site attendance all or part of the time they are actively working.
- Some work locations are not located in the city in which the consultant lives; this normally requires staying in hotels or other lodgings.
- Some assignments may allow remote work. This allows the employee to work from home or other locations of their choosing.
- Position may require extensive travel via various modes of transportation.
- Some work assignments may require longer work hours, different or additional days, or on-call on a varying schedule not determined by Healthtech (ex GO LIVES).
- Senior Consultant assignments may necessitate travel outside of scheduled work hours (e.g., flying on weekends or evenings). There may also be the possibility of travel interruptions which may affect the Senior Consultant.
- Must be available for calls, emails, and consults regularly and outside of scheduled work hours to support the client and communicate with home office as necessary. This involves checking email, or voicemail on a regular basis throughout the day to respond to client or Healthtech matters.
- If a go-live occurs while on a project with a client, extensive hours will more than likely be required. While go-live events do not occur on every project or with high frequency, if a consultant accepts a project that requires go-live participation, they will be expected to meet the time requirements of the assignment. Must be able to unequivocally commit to working nights and weekends, be on-call, and immediately responsive to client needs during the event
