Nordic Looking for Senior Human Resource Generalist at Toronto, ON Full Time

The Senior Human Resources Generalist provides proactive consultation and coaching to internal business partners and assists with internal initiatives. This role also serves as an advocate for the employee experience and provides guidance to all phases of the employee lifecycle, such as: culture, onboarding, performance management and retention, employee relations, and offboarding.

• Serving as the primary HR contact for assigned internal clients and Human Resources Managers
• Working closely with internal business partners to proactively identify and implement strategies that aid in achieving Nordic’s business objectives
• Serving as a champion of company culture, modeling Nordic’s maxims and delivering exceptional employee experiences
• Providing consultation and coaching to departmental management, providing HR guidance and policy interpretation where necessary
• Collaboratively working with HR teammates and business partners to develop programs, policies, and solutions that enable success for each business unit and align to company vision
• Guiding day-to-day performance management with departmental managers and employees (performance reviews, career development, disciplinary actions, etc.)
• Serving as a contact and lead for mid-level employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough, and objective assessments and implementing appropriate resolutions
• Fostering a team culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing operational efficiencies
• Analyzing data trends and metrics; using insights to inform recommendations to departmental and business unit leaders
• Conducting employee exit interviews and pulling reports monthly to report back to business line senior leaders
• Maintaining HR information system records and analyzes associated data to make decisions
• Recommending new approaches, policies, and procedures to drive continuous improvement in the HR department
• Helping to coordinate and prep for items such as: internal trainings, performance reviews, merit reviews
• Assisting with preparing reports for internal clients, as needed
• Maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, employment law, and benefits
• Working on projects that may be assigned on an ad hoc basis and may assist other corporate initiatives as necessary, directed, assigned, or requested

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience required
• 4+ years of human resources experience required; multiple disciplines strongly preferred
• Proven ability to connect with a wide range of audiences and build quick rapport
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on customer service
• Prior experience with Workday (HRIS) strongly preferred
• Driven to move quickly and motivated to win
• Able to balance urgent, short-term needs with strategic, long-term priorities
• Adaptable and able to embrace the gray with a positive attitude
• Strong ability to maintain confidentiality
• Proven experience in negotiating situations to a mutually beneficial outcome
• Previous merger & acquisition and/or international experience a plus
• Proficient with the Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
• Organized, with strong attention to detail
• Able to manage time under pressure and within time constraints
• Must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment
• Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims

• Occasional travel up to 5% of the time
