Duration: The duration of this contract will be approximately 4 months. Applicants are expected to fulfill the entire contract period commencing May 1, 2024 until August 30th, 2024.

Position Description:
This position will perform a variety of duties in the Corporate Services division.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assist in office administration, research and analysis as required for the Corporate Support Services department in the areas of: risk management, purchasing, realty services, asset management, special event coordination, accessibility and provincial offences administration
- Assist with the coordination, development and implementation of corporate-wide customer service initiatives to promote and provide quality customer service by providing customer service expertise, guidance, communications and policy and procedure development
- Assist with the development and updating of various customer service publications, directories and listings for County services for both internal and external users
- Assist with procurement card administration, spend analysis and audit functions
- Conduct research and provide administrative support related to areas within the division functions
- Undertake and disseminate research and analysis on a variety of special projects for the division
- Input and update work orders
- Data entry
- Assist with the administration of special event applications and permits
- Assist with mail, courier and printing services
- Provide administrative, clerical and general assistance to division/department staff members
- Receive payments and issue receipts
- Compile statistical information and analysis with respect to department projects, programs and performance measures
- Provide front-line customer service at applicable service counters including POA ticket keying and financial services data-entry as required
- Provide exceptional customer service on the phone and in person
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a University or College program in Public Administration/Political Science, Business Administration, Accounting, Office Administration or Legal program or related field
- Ability to work in a team environment, accept and follow verbal and written instructions, complete duties to an acceptable level of quantity and quality with minimal supervision and follow all of Norfolk County Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Excellent customer service and time management skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills
- Must have Class G2 Driver’s License – as occasional travel may be required
- Ability to deal with the public courteously and effectively
- Employment is conditional upon: attendance at all training sessions, submission of required documentation/certification, adherence to the minimum age requirements and ability to meet the employment term
- At time of application must be enrolled in a post-secondary education institution or institution of higher learning.
- Applicants must submit a criminal record check (dated within the last 3 months) from their local police service for approval prior to commencing employment
