NorQuest College Looking for Academic Pathways Specialist at Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Full Time

FACULTY OF ACADEMIC STRATEGY & INTEGRATION

NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re searching for three people dedicated to finding ways forward by developing Academic Pathways. Reporting to the Academic Program Manager (APM) of Cross Faculty Education, the Academic Pathways Specialist works to develop and expand pathway opportunities at NorQuest, with a specific focus on Dual Credit programming.

This role contributes to the growth of academic pathways, such as dual credit offerings, expansion of open admission pathways, increased connections between foundational programs, including LINC, and other NorQuest programs, bridging and alignment, and external transfer opportunities. While building new pathways, the specialist will work with other areas of the college to improve processes that focus on smooth transitions for learners. This position needs to process and synthesize information quickly, looking for patterns in programming and pathways to contribute to the development of pathways.

An ideal candidate has a solid understanding of Alberta’s High School curriculum. They also have a proven record supporting and reporting on academic projects, including communicating success and maintaining high-quality delivery and maintenance.

How You’ll Make a Difference

• Develop new Academic Pathways, with a special focus on Dual Credit programming.
• Monitor and improve business processes supporting pathways activities, such as dual credit, transfer agreements, other pathways development activities.
• Coordinate and support delivery of pathways engagement opportunities, such as Dual Credit information sessions, campus visits, virtual experiences, webinars, and wrap up celebrations with internal and external stakeholders.
• Monitor and improve business processes that support Cross Faculty Education pathways activities, such as dual credit, transfer agreements, and alternative credentials.
• Collaboratively contribute to delivery of dual credit ensuring process and role clarity.
• Participate in program brokerage and curriculum-sharing discussions, highlighting opportunities and clarifying the process, roles, and responsibilities.
• Utilize data to improve processes and report on the success of academic pathways, including the development and maintenance of new reporting dashboards.
• Remain current on Alberta education funding models and grant funding opportunities.
• Contribute to the creation of new material that supports processes, frameworks, and guidelines, while ensuring information is disseminated through appropriate channels.
• Contribute to the development of policy and procedure consultation plans, participating in consultation sessions as needed in a community facilitator role.
• Provide guidance and leadership on external awareness of Cross Faculty Projects, working collaboratively with other areas of the College to ensure smooth delivery of high-quality learning opportunities.

What You Bring

• Experience working in Alberta’s K-12 Education system is considered an asset.
• 3+ years managing programs.
• A combination of education and experience working on educational projects equivalent to an undergraduate degree, or a Bachelor’s degree.
• Project management experience, particularly result-based management, is considered an asset.
• Experience with planning and hosting engagement activities, such as webinars and info sessions considered an asset.

SALARY $61,635 – $80,003 reflective upon what you bring AKA your education and experience. This is a full-time permanent position with immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
