Job Description: INSTRUCTOR, HEALTH CARE AIDE
FACULTY OF HEALTH AND COMMUNITY STUDIES

Graduates of NorQuest College’s Health Care Aide program are also Difference Makers in terms of the health care that Albertans receive. Our students prepare for their clinical experiences with theory and hands-on learning in multiple modes of delivery, and we are proud of the varied and robust learning experiences in our programs. We utilize low and high fidelity simulation to augment the learner experience, providing students with a safe learning environment to practice and reflect.

As a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in in a variety of health care settings in Edmonton and surrounding area, so the ability to travel to these sites is a requirement. Our clinical sites include both acute and continuing care.
Instructors help our learners acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude to be successful and safe practitioners within their scope of practice. You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and patient-centered way.
The hours of work are usually day time, Monday to Friday; however clinical rotations may include evening or weekend components. Casual instructors teaching in the clinical setting are needed to commit to 2 consecutive weeks or 4 consecutive weeks of full time hours at a time.
To be successful in this role you will be able to travel to clinical sites in the greater Edmonton region and surrounding area.

Develop and implement lesson plans.
- Evaluate student success
- Work with the NorQuest College lead instructor ensure the integrity of the NorQuest College Health Care Aide program is maintained.
- Communicate any concerns/issues with Program Chair, and Associate Chair, Health Care Aide.
- Maintain detailed records of the materials shipped.
- Maintain appropriate student and program records as per NorQuest College policies and procedures.
- Carry out other duties as assigned.

What you bring*
*
RN, RPN or LPN
- Current CARNA/CRPNA/CLPNA registration required.
- Excellent communication skills. Previous experience in teaching/supporting Indigenous students is an asset
- Excellent technical skills and comfort
- Able to provide proof of current immunization requirements for on-campus and clinical teaching

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring. AKA your education and experience. Plus, 11.2% in lieu of vacation and benefits.
This is a Faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement outlines how pay is determined.
