INSTRUCTOR, PRACTICAL NURSE
FACULTY OF HEALTH STUDIES
NorQuesters are difference makers and we’re looking for 5 term Practical Nurse Instructors dedicated to leading from where they are to join our Faculty of Health Studies team at our Edmonton campus as a casual Clinical Instructor in our Practical Nurse program.
Graduates of NorQuest College’s Practical Nurse program are also Difference Makers in terms of the health care that Albertans receive. Our students prepare for their clinical experiences with theory and hands-on learning in multiple modes of delivery, and we are proud of the varied and robust learning experiences in our programs. We utilize low and high-fidelity simulation to augment the learner experience, providing students with a safe learning environment to practice and reflect.

We are seeking 5 term positions for the duration of 6 months with the opportunity to renew.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
As a NorQuest Instructor, you will facilitate learning in in a variety of health care settings in Edmonton and surrounding area, so the ability to travel to these sites is a requirement. Our clinical sites include both acute and continuing care.
Instructors help our learners acquire the knowledge, skills, and attitude to be successful and safe practitioners within their scope of practice. You will need to possess excellent organizational and communication skills, and have a passion for providing instruction and feedback that allows our students to apply skills in a safe and patient-centered way.
The hours of work are full time, Monday to Friday that run for four- and eight-week increments. It will consist of alternating 1 week eight-hour day shifts and 1 week eight-hour evening shifts with weekends off. The primary focus is for medicine and surgical site rotations and possibly long term care sites.
You must have the ability to travel to clinical sites in Edmonton and surrounding area.
WHAT YOU BRING
Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
A Practical Nurse Diploma with an additional completed Bachelor’s Degree.
Clinical experience: at least one year of full-time clinical nursing or nursing education experience (or the equivalent in part-time experience).
CRNA or CLPNA registration.
Current CPR.
Previous formal or informal teaching experience is an asset.

SALARY: Reflective upon what you bring, AKA your education and experience. This is a term position for the duration of 6 months with immediate access to our great benefit and pension programs.
This is a Faculty role therefore the pay range is quite large, the Faculty Association agreement outlines how pay is determined.
