MARKETING SPECIALIST
MARKETING & COMMUNICATIONS
Reporting to the Director, Marketing, the Marketing Specialist provides a comprehensive range of marketing support and services for internal clients across the college including faculties, student recruitment, and corporate service areas. The scope of practice for the role is wide, and the work has direct and significant impact on the college’s brand and reputation.
The Marketing Specialist operates within marketing budgets, plans, and projects to align with business strategies and objectives. Significant internal cross-college and cross-divisional collaboration with all levels of the organization is critical in this role to understand objectives, consult with clients, develop programs and solutions to meet objectives, manage projects, develop materials, manage relationships with vendors, and execute multiple competing priorities. The Marketing Specialist is responsible for managing project and relationships with internal clients, providing communication, oversight, and collaboration in executing marketing strategies, ensuring alignment with the college’s branding, marketing, student recruitment and retention, and business goals, objectives and priorities, and visual identity guidelines.
This role also has significant external relationships and works with vendors to maximize the use of available budgets for all media, collateral, and digital marketing solutions, including the college’s viewbook and other key marketing projects. In addition, the Marketing Specialist monitors and reports on campaign performance and achievement of KPI.
The role is primarily responsible for projects related to brand awareness and positioning, student recruitment, student retention, and other college services like the Office of the Registrar, Advancement, and Business Development. The Marketing Specialist participates in cross-functional, cross-college project teams to support these strategies, and has the primary responsibility for the execution of strategic marketing plans and ensuring the tactical plans achieve the campaign goals and objectives.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Acts as primary contact and project lead networking between internal marketing team and stakeholders.
Develops and maintains strong working relationships and collaborates with key internal clients and stakeholders in the faculties, business development, Student Recruitment, Advancement, External Relations, and other business areas to identify and assess marketing needs and opportunities, and provide consulting, recommendations, and results.
Identifies client needs, objectives, and develops effective marketing plans and strategies to achieve them.
Develop, manage, and execute marketing strategies for divisional and institutional marketing campaigns, advertising (print, outdoor, radio, electronic, online, displays, etc.), promotions and sponsorships to achieve college objectives and reach defined target audiences.
Build and draft strategic marketing plans, creative briefs, and project plans for each marketing project, which include budget guidelines, timelines, approval processes, production, and post-implementation evaluation, and manage the successful execution of these projects.
Assist with college recruitment and student events such as career fairs, Open House, conferences, training sessions, and convocation, etc. as required.
Contribute to the development and implementation of marketing processes and procedures to ensure effective and efficient workflow, improve communication, and enhance working relationships.
WHAT YOU BRING
A university degree related to marketing, communications, or related business field. Related experience with training and professional development may be considered for equivalency (for example, multiple related diplomas).
3+ years of experience in developing and executing effective marketing and brand strategies and projects in a large, multifaceted organization.
Experience in an educational institution is an asset.
Experience working with senior-level clients.
Agency and account management experience considered an asset.
A solid knowledge of and experience with developing marketing strategies, advertising, market research, promotions, direct marketing, events, sponsorships, and graphic design/creative development.
Experience developing and monitoring marketing and advertising campaign budgets.
Required to know and be able to apply marketing and communication theories to execute effective strategic and tactical marketing plans using all types of media, including electronic and social media, appropriate and applicable to the audience, goals, and objectives of the plan.
Proven experience using project management and change management practices to manage the implementation of marketing plans.

Ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects with tight deadlines simultaneously.
Ability to work and interact with people at all levels, including senior management.
SALARY: $73,475 – $95,409 reflective of what you bring, AKA your education and experience. Plus, immediate access to our great pension and benefit programs.
