We are seeking a Director, Accounting who will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions across a region, including financial reporting, year-end audit participation and supporting budgeting and forecasting activities. They will also be responsible for building and retaining a strong regional accounting team that provides the planning, organizing, execution and coordination of all financial results to support the business operations.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Works with the Vice President, Finance to develop financial benchmarks for acceptable performance
• Assists in the annual regional budgeting and forecasting process
• Supports Project and Studio Managers to establish strategies and action plans for specific client accounting requirements
• Prepares reporting packages and leads the monthly/quarterly/annual reporting and analysis of revenue, cost and margin variances to the Vice President of Finance
• Works closely with external auditors to prepare regional audit working papers and financial statements
• Ensures proper documentation and compliance of accounting internal controls and business processes in accordance with GAAP
• Oversees and ensures accuracy and completion of accounting activities

Required Skills

• Have successfully completed related post-secondary education equivalent to a college diploma in Accounting
• Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) are an asset
• Licensed or registered with a relevant professional association is an asset

Required Experience

• 10+ years of general accounting experience
• Experience in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
