Job Details:

Job Duties:
- Design and prepare detailed electronic (CAD) shop drawings, layouts and/or scale drawings for window and door projects, measurements, sketches and specifications.
- Produce detailed drawings and specifications using AUTOCAD software to include design specifications and parts lists.
- Work closely with Drafting Manager to select cost-effective materials and construction techniques.
- Create custom door/window designs from architectural elevation.
- Organize and maintain a design and CAD digital file database for each project.
- Revise designs and plans to comply with modified specifications made during actual construction.
- Liaise with departmental personnel to obtain materials requirements.
- Review plans and technical reports to meet project specifications.
- Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets.
- Employ problem-solving strategies and find solutions to product design issues.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of drafting experience working within the architectural field
- Experience in building envelopes (windows/doors/railings)
- Expert efficiency in using AUTOCAD and effective working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, email and Adobe
- Proven analytical skills and ability to identify customer needs
- Able to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong written skills
- Ability to follow through and complete overlapping projects
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced product development environment
- Able to work with minimal supervision
- Occasional overtime as required.
