Position Scope:
Site: Syncrude Aurora
Schedule: 14×7 – 12 hours (paid for 11.5 hours) (7 days, 7 nights, 7 off)
Accommodations: Not provided
Transportation: Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
Overtime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week
Suncor Incentive Pay: $75/ day paid out at the end of every month.
NACG is looking for a Hyrdraulic Shovel Operator to work on on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.
Site: Syncrude Aurora

Incentive Pay: Successful candidates will receive $33 per day worked Aurora Incentive Pay
Houry Rate: Up to $53.31 per hour
Suncor Incentive Pay: $75/ day paid out at the end of every month.
The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset.

Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience operating 5500 or equivalent size hydraulic shovel.
- Must have at least 1 year experience in mining environment or overburden removal.
Summary:
All successful candidates must:
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Have experience as requested as mentioned above
- Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening
- Criminal Record Check
Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.
All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
- CSO or BSO Certification
- Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
- VOID cheque/direct deposit form
- Silica Awareness
- Hydrogen Sulphide Awareness
Once dispatched the following processes will occur:
- Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
- An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
- After all results are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site specific details.
