Position Scope:
Site: Fort Hills
Schedule: 14×7- 12 hours (paid for 11.5 hours) (Days and nights)
Accommodations: Camp provided
Transportation: Flights are provided to and from Edmonton or Calgary. Bussing provided from Fort McMurray to site (before and after shifts)
Overtime: Provided after 8 hours a day or 44 hours a week
Hourly Rate: Up to $51.56 per hour
Suncor Incentive Pay: $75/ day paid out at the end of every month
NACG is looking for excavator operators to work on a remote mining site in the Fort McMurray area. You must be well-organized and favor safety above everything else.

The successful candidate will be required to join the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 955.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience on Excavators 1200 size and up
- Attentive and have good listening skills
- Familiar with GPS equipment and reading/understanding grade stakes
- Familiar with tight working conditions and working with ground personnel
- High school diploma, GED, and/or post-secondary education is considered an asset
Summary:
All successful candidates must:
- Be proficient in English, both verbally and written
- Have a valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Have experience as requested as mentioned above
- Subject to Random Testing at: Suncor, Suncor Fort Hills and Kearl sites
- Undergo and successfully pass the following testing:
- Breath Alcohol Test
- Urine Drug Test
- Fitness-to-Work Assessment
- Audiometric Testing
- Vision Screening
- Criminal Record Check
Shift, site, and start times are subject to change.
All successful candidates MUST provide the following items prior to confirmation of their start date:
- CSO or BSO Certification
- Copy of Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Copy of recent Driver’s Abstract
- VOID cheque/direct deposit form
- Silica Awareness
Once dispatched the following processes will occur:
- Will receive a call from NACG to set up all required pre-employment testing
- An email will be sent with all required New Hire Paperwork to be filled out
- After all results are received by NACG candidates will be contacted by Site Admin to schedule orientation and confirm your start date and other site specific details.
