As a Private Vocational School, North American Transport Driving Academy teaches students to operate the heaviest vehicles on a public road.
Our mission is to assist in improving road safety in the Province by delivering a curriculum that focuses on the skills and knowledge necessary so that food, medicine and all commodities are moved across Ontario roadways by well trained and safe commercial drivers.
Job satisfaction with this role is incredibly high as we watch our students grow with every class they take and understanding that their graduation from our program represents an opportunity that will not only change their lives for the better but the lives of their family.
Because of the quality of our people, our training and our product, our Company continues to grow year after year.
As the company grows in locations and reputation we find ourselves in need of a person that, from the financial side, can help us in our ambition to continue to scale the Company.
Our values are old school. We believe in person learning and in person working. We believe that a group of people around a table (kitchen or boardroom table) is far more effective at building the human bonds that a team needs to grow and succeed.
In our industry discipline and accuracy are key to keeping people on the roads safe.
The same is true for every position in our Company and those two traits along with values of honesty and integrity are what allows us to continue to grow.
Working with us you will need at least five years of leadership experience in a financial role, as well as solid communication, technology and analytical abilities.
We use Sage 50 which is not terribly sophisticated but you will require either the ability to learn the platform in short order to the expert level or already have experience with this or related software.
We will expect that you hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and prefer candidates with advanced credentials such as a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) or a chartered professional accountant (CPA) designation.
Of course there are the normal duties expected of our accounting leader:
And then there will hopefully be that impactful, insightful and creative accounting leader that will emerge over time as you better understand our business and our potential for explosive growth.
Everyone that meets the qualifications listed above is welcome to apply. The only considerations we have is fit (with in our existing group) and performance.
