Position Overview
North Atlantic has a wide range of information technology services that are vital to daily operations ranging from services for head office departments, retail stations, delivery trucks, satellite offices, and truck loading. The Information Technology Technician (ITT), under the direction of the Network and Security Manager, will primarily be responsible to provide day to day support for end users to ensure security, workability and availability of North Atlantic’s technology assets. The ITT must be able to multitask in a high pace environment and respond to all user requests and ensure resolutions by using all available resources.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Install, test, troubleshoot, diagnose, document and resolve technical issues surrounding Laptop/Desktop, Network Devices, mobile devices, IP Phones, and software/hardware
- Provide technical advice and assistance to employees
- Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
- Evaluate hardware and software to ensure that it meets company requirements
- Integrate and implement business solutions related to information technology
- Ensure maintenance, administration and security of hardware as per IT policies
- Maintain checklists and documentation related to support
- Contact vendors to arrange for repair and/or warranty work of computer/printer equipment as required
- Maintain software, license and hardware inventory
- Provide assistance to other IT staff as required
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Information Technology, or a field related to the industry
- 1–2 years education/experience in an Information Technology environment
- Able to work individually as well as part of a team
- Positive and friendly customer service attitude
- Demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies
- Ability to work effectively and professionally in a fast paced and changing environment with people at various levels
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Technology Knowledge:
- Experience with Apple iPhone and iOS
- Knowledge of hardware/software and multifunction device troubleshooting
- Knowledge of Windows Operating systems and MS Office 365 is required
- Familiarity with networking – Dynamic DNS/DNS, Client VPN/Site-Site VPN, Static/Dynamic IP, SFTP
- Basic Knowledge of Meraki routers, switches, and access points would be considered an asset
- Basic knowledge of SQL, Hosted Exchange, VMWare, Cisco Hyperflex, N-Able, and Active Directory would be beneficial
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics, Fuel Facs, Store Management Suite software packages would be an asset
- Valid driver’s license required
- Flexibility in schedule is required, with the ability to travel within the province as necessary
