Position Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Organizational Development, the Organizational Development Coordinator plays a key role in achieving NYGH’s strategic direction to build our culture to empower and inspire our people. The Employee Engagement Specialist is responsible for developing, managing and maintaining innovative initiatives that foster high levels of employee engagement. The incumbent will provide expertise, leadership and hands-on implementation of employee engagement surveys, employee recognition programs and related initiatives promoting a positive and desired culture. Working closely with a varied group of stakeholders, this position will be the primary resource for engagement and recognition programming to support the best care to patients, retention of staff, staff wellness and achievement of organizational goals.

On a practical level, you will

• Lead, develop and implement the continuous improvement of NYGH engagement and recognition strategies
• Oversee, complete, assess and report on employee, medical staff and volunteer engagement surveys, methodologies and results
• Assist management to design, implement and report on engagement strategies
• Coordinate NYGH Corporate New Hire Orientation program
• Leverage engagement and recognition expertise to build capacity in NYGH leaders to recognize staff and promote recognition linked to organizational objectives (e.g. design, delivery and facilitation of educational interventions for management and staff related to engagement and recognition)
• Organize and lead corporate recognition events
• Create a comprehensive, inclusive and dynamic program reflective of staff feedback and current best practices
• Plan, coordinate and/or support efforts such as “Take Our Kids to Work Day,” learning sessions and arranging for guest speakers as appropriate
• Manage timelines, track expenses and work within budget

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Human Resources, Adult Education, Organizational Development) or recognized equivalent working experience
• Related experience in Human Resources or Organizational Development in a healthcare setting is an asset.
• Experience in Program Coordination, in coordinating learning and development programs is preferred
• Experience in learning management systems (LMS) and other technologies used in training delivery is preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with extensive experience in Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to take the initiative, analyze, and problem-solve.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
