Northern Dock Systems Inc. Looking for Collection and Receivable Clerk at Mississauga, ON Full Time

Northern Dock Systems Inc. is seeking a Collection/AR Clerk to join our Finance Team.

Responsibilities

Collection:

• Gather and verify invoices for appropriate documentation prior to payment
• Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, credits and collections are applied, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
• Perform daily cash management duties, including the recording of bank deposits, updating and distribution of cash receipt logs, and posting of cash to the accounts receivable sub-ledger
• Monitor and collect accounts receivable by contacting clients via telephone, email, and mail
• Run weekly Aged Receivable Report
• Work collaboratively with Accounts Payable and other accounting staff to ensure accuracy in finances
• Prepare analytical analyses relevant to A/R so management can gain a better understanding of how collection efforts are progressing
• Support other accounting team members
• Other duties as required

Accounts Receivable:

• Daily process and post all incoming payments (CODs, cheques, ACHs, e-transfers)
• Issue Credit/Debit Memos as required
• Reconcile daily receipts with General Ledger
• Generate and distribute monthly statements
• Collection calls on overdue accounts
• Process credit applications with credit reference checks
• Manage filing promptly
• Reconcile accounts receivable monthly with bank statements
• Invoice construction jobs.
• Participate in Year-End closing
• Support other accounting team members when required
• Other duties as required

Qualifications & Skills

• Good knowledge of accounting fundamentals
• Highly proficient in MS Office programs (EXCEL a must), and CRM/ERP software
• Experience dealing in multi-currencies
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Effective communication skills with strong verbal and written skills in the English language
• 3+ years collections experience, construction industry considered an asset

Office Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From $22.00 per hour
