Job Summary
The role reports to the HR Leader of Construction & Design. HR Coordinator supports HR Business Partner in all HR-related including recruitment, onboarding/offboarding, training & development, employee relations, performance management, employee engagement, reporting, health & safety, and HR Information Systems related activities

Key Accountabilities
Support the HR Business Partner with a variety of responsibilities, including recruitment activities, New Hire Orientation, and support in building new HR processes & policies
Responsible for creating, maintaining, and updating job descriptions for Construction & Design division roles.
Build strong relationships with local/foreign organizations and educational institutions to achieve recruitment/sourcing objectives for the Construction and design division.
Conduct the first recruitment steps, including the job posting, applicant selection, and initial phone screening interviews.
Assist in the development and implementation of programs that will drive increased employee satisfaction, work safety, and retention levels
Provide resources to employees and managers with respect to career development, compensation, staffing initiatives, performance management and employee relations
Support HR Information System-related activities – Ceridian activities as required.
Assist with the coordination and communication of the annual Survey for the team.
Maintain all HR documentation and compile statistical reports concerning personnel-related data such as hires, transfers, performance appraisals, and absenteeism rates
Address ongoing ad-hoc employee questions and queries.

Essential requirements
Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field.
2-3 years of experience working in Human Resources or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience in recruiting people is a big plus.
A good understanding of Canadian Provincial Employment Standards and Human Rights legislation and knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety standards are preferred.
Advanced proficiency in all MS Office including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook
A high level of integrity with the ability to handle employee issues in a professional, confidential manner
Problem-solving: can anticipate and plan for potential roadblocks and is able to look for creative solutions and think through problems in a logical manner
Proactive and adaptable to changing work environments, work priorities and organizational needs.
