Job Summary:
This role will report to the Project Manager. Duties include taking the lead on all on-site activities, and ensuring the completion of each project on time and within budget with high-quality standards. This role will build a site team and work collaboratively shoulder to shoulder with other sites, procurement, operations, construction, and design divisions.
Key Accountabilities:
Create daily, weekly, and monthly construction schedules that achieve the project completion timeline within labor budget parameters.
Supervising, coordinating, and scheduling the day-to-day activities of all crew.
Accomplishes construction human resource objectives by hiring, orienting, training, assigning, scheduling, coaching, counseling, and if required disciplining employees; communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, appraising job contributions; recommending compensation actions; adhering to policies and procedures.
Enforces best building practices with a hands-on tools approach.
Leads, teaches and mentors the crew to achieve high excellence in performance and quality.
Manages crew and sub-contractors by locating, evaluating, selecting, monitoring, and controlling performance.
Meets operational standards by contributing construction information to strategic plans and reviews; implementing production, productivity, quality, and customer-service standards; resolving problems; identifying construction management system improvements.
Meets construction budget by monitoring project expenditures for weekly labor, equipment, and materials; identifying variances; implementing corrective actions.
Accomplishes project results by calculating resources required; establishing standards and protocols; allocating resources; scheduling and coordinating staff and sub-contractors; evaluating milestone assumptions and conclusions; resolving design problems; evaluating and implementing change orders.
Achieves construction quality standards by conducting daily inspections and taking corrective action as required.
Prevents fines and interruptions by complying with, and enforcing, codes.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
Resolving work challenges and recommending measures to improve productivity and quality.
Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
Essential Requirements:
5 + years experience in related construction or renovations.
Positive attitude, team orientated, willingness to encourage co-workers, and act as an ambassador for our companies.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to identify and set priorities with exercise in flexibility where necessary.
High ability to problem solve and create cost-effective solutions to challenges.
Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and construction documentation.
Understanding all safety procedures, recognizing hazards, and proactively eliminating risk to employees and the site.
Knowledgeable in all trade activities.
Competent in Office 365, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
