As our Stators Manufacturing Manager, you will use your proven leadership ability, creativity, and problem-solving skills to plan, produce, and deliver downhole power section stators at our Nisku, Alberta facility.

JOB SUMMARY:

You will lead your team in safely delivering high-quality products, on time to delivery expectations, at a competitive cost. You will also drive performance improvement in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Innovation, and Employee Engagement. You will accomplish this by managing all aspects of product delivery, from raw material through shipment, using an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials. You and your team will collaborate with product engineering, sales, operations, suppliers, and logistics/compliance to identify and understand problems, determine root causes, and drive the implementation of solutions throughout the facility.

This position reports to and is the main developmental path for, the Director of Operations for the Nisku facility.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Promote a safe working environment for your team by promoting near-miss incident reporting, proactive job hazard analysis, and careful planning of equipment layout and material movement following our change management process.
• Ensure quality goes into every stator, minimizing internal defects, scrap, and rework while ensuring no substandard product escapes the facility. Monitor and promote effective root cause analysis and effective problem solving to reduce defects at the source.
• Support the team by setting realistic but challenging production goals, and work towards them with focus and discipline. Maintain high performance.
• Help the site sustain its equipment and assets through a combination of limited preventive maintenance and effective training and development of production leads and operators.
• Hire and promote effectively. Establish and sustain processes of regular target setting, performance appraisal, growth, and development of your team. Provide consistent communication to the entire group to create a positive culture and well-guided team.
• Lead complex and multiple projects including expanding production, acquiring new equipment, and incorporating new processes
• Use and teach lean manufacturing and theory of constraints-based problem solving and process control and improvement.
• The position may require travel.
• All other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• A combination of success as a Manufacturing-related leader and/or relevant degree or diploma (e.g. Business, Engineering, Supply Chain, Materials, etc.)
• Minimum two (2) years of leadership experience in a process manufacturing environment required.
• Prior experience with production, purchasing, planning, engineering, finance, and/or quality is preferred.
• Significant Lean manufacturing experience is an asset.

TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:

• Proficient with Microsoft applications
• Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), Manufacturing Execution Systems, and ERP systems (JDE is a plus) desired. Must have a working knowledge of MRP systems.
• Basic financial knowledge (cost accounting, P&L, etc.)

HSEQ REQUIREMENTS:

• Participate and/or lead in near-miss / incident reporting/incident investigations.
• Be an HSE champion, ensuring all HSE policies and procedures are adhered to by all Manufacturing employees.
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment (walking, standing, noise).
• Travel may be required (less than 10%).
