We are seeking an enthusiastic and passionate professional for a Digital and Security Automation Engineering Analyst with experience working in an agile development environment, Infrastructure-as-Code, Security-as-Code experience, and End to End (E2E) workflow development. NOVA Chemicals digital strategy is focused on innovation and leveraging cloud capabilities and automation and orchestration services to meet the rapidly evolving needs of our business. Ideal candidates should have experience working with continuous integration/delivery pipeline platforms, application security, security orchestration, and business process automation.
You will help the team evolve NOVA Chemicals digital practice, leveraging best practices and tools and apply your expertise in E2E automation to establish a scalable digital platform, optimizing for efficiency, self-service, governance, and security.
You Will Use Your Expertise To:
Collaborate closely within cybersecurity and cross-functional business units to drive security automation practices. Utilizing strong analytical and conceptual skills to clearly understand business operations and dependencies.
Supports the vision of Digital Enablement Team by working closely with team members and leaders to implement and support secure, high performance, maintainable and scalable enterprise cloud architecture across the organization.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the rapidly evolving landscape of development and workload migrations to SaaS, and PaaS.
Design and implement continuous security processes to continuously improve the security posture of applications and infrastructure.
Work closely with product and platform teams to engineer and implement security controls with a focus on DevOps.
Implement a highly automated approach to deliver our key management processes by exploiting investment in existing tooling and/or identify new tooling.
Develop procedures to automate security tasks during code builds and deployments
Support platform integrations includes security, cloud, and infrastructure.
Build security utilities and tools for internal use that enable NOVA Teams to operate at high speed and wide scale.
Coordinate between development and operations teams to increase the security, stability, and reliability of applications.
Challenge the status quo and seek new and better ways of solving technical problems.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent with a minimum of 1-3 years related experience and continued professional development.
At least 1 year of relevant software delivery/network/system automation experience.
Demonstrate a deep understanding of application security controls across multiple platforms. Experience in DevOps tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Chef, Puppet or other similar tools to support automation and orchestration service development. Working knowledge in Azure cloud. Knowledge of Azure DevOps Scrum work management practices. A safety minded individual to support and maintain a positive safety culture by following all safety policies and procedures and actively contributing to a safe working environment.

Additional Information: This position may be located at any NOVA Chemicals location in Canada or the United States. Relocation will be considered for this position. A valid driver’s license is required for this position. Travel to other NOVA Chemicals locations will be required.
